Udaipur, The Rajasthan State U-13 Chess Championship, organized by the Udaipur District Chess Association, concluded successfully at Delhi Public School, Bhuwana, from November 30 to December 1. The event witnessed the participation of 192 players from 18 districts, with Udaipur leading with 94 participants.
The tournament was inaugurated by noted advocate Rajesh Jajodia and CA Swati Goyal, who made the ceremonial first move. The competition, conducted over seven rounds, celebrated young talent and fierce competition.
In the Girls’ Category, Advika Sarupriya (Udaipur) emerged victorious with 6 points, earning ₹3,100 and a trophy. Aradhya Upadhyay (Bhilwara) and Lorisha Kothari (Udaipur) secured second and third positions, respectively, with 6 points each, winning ₹2,100 and ₹1,100 alongside trophies. Additional prizes were awarded to top performers, including Yashika Sharma (Kota) and Tushika Jain (Alwar).
In the Open Category, Aarush Mathur (Jaipur) clinched the title with 6.5 points, bagging ₹3,100 and a trophy. Ojas Joshi (Jaipur) and Kavyansh Kumar Jain (Jaipur) secured the second and third positions, respectively, with 6 points each.
Special prizes were given to Udaipur players, with Kiana Parihar achieving 5.5 points and ₹1,000, while players like Heyansh Pandya and others also excelled.
The event was graced by Chief Guest ADM City Veer Singh and special guests, including Shraddha Gattani from the K G Gattani Foundation and DPS Principal Sanjay Narwaya.
Selected champions, including Advika Sarupriya and Aarush Mathur, will represent Rajasthan at the national championships in Durgapur, West Bengal.
Udaipur District Chess Association Chairperson Sonal Garg and Secretary Indra Prajapat congratulated all participants, distributing 23 cash prizes, trophies, and medals to encourage the young talents.
