Kota: In a significant action under the COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act) Act, a joint team led by the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Narendra Nagar and the MBS Hospital authorities conducted a crackdown in the Nayapura area on Tuesday.
The team issued 16 challans (fines) to shopkeepers selling tobacco products around the MBS Hospital campus and to individuals using tobacco products within the premises. Additionally, they removed tobacco display materials from the shops. The team also educated the vendors about the provisions of the COTPA Act to ensure compliance with anti-tobacco regulations.
The action was carried out by Amit Kumar Sharma, Yash Sharma, Kamlesh Gautam, Ajit Dhakad, along with Dr. Pradeep Faujdar, Gauri Shankar Sharma, and the Nursing Superintendent from MBS Hospital.
