Students to Learn Traditional Phad Painting Style in Bhilwara

Bhilwara: A summer training camp focused on Phad painting, a traditional art form, will be organized from June 7 to June 21, 2024. This initiative is a collaborative effort by the Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi, the Department of Art, Literature, Culture, and Archaeology, Jaipur, and the local Aakriti Kala Sansthan, Bhilwara.

Dr. Rajneesh Harsh, Secretary of Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi, stated that the camp aims to educate and train young people about traditional folk painting styles. The 15-day Phad painting camp will be held at Aakriti Art Gallery, located in Vakil Colony.

According to camp coordinator Kailash Paliya, renowned Phad artist Rajesh Joshi and assistant artist Anu Prajapat will provide the training. Participants will learn about the history of Phad painting, the folk tales depicted in this style, the materials used, natural colors, canvas preparation, drawing techniques, and the potential for modern applications in design and fashion.

The camp will be inaugurated tomorrow, June 7, 2024, at 5 PM at Aakriti Art Gallery. The sessions will be held daily from 5 PM to 7 PM.
