World Suicide Prevention Day 2024 Observed at Geetanjali College and School of Nursing

On World Suicide Prevention Day 2024, the Mental Health Nursing Department of Geetanjali College and School of Nursing organized a special program. The event was inaugurated by Dean Dr. Vijaya Ajmera, who lit a lamp before the statue of Goddess Saraswati. Present at the event were Principal of Geetanjali College of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Yogeshwar Puri Goswami, Principal of Geetanjali School of Nursing, Prof. Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Academic Officer Prof. Kamlesh Joshi, Mental Health Nursing Department Head Prof. Jayesh Patidar, Associate Professor Harendra Gehlot, as well as department heads, faculty members, and students.

Dean Dr. Vijaya Ajmera led the students in taking the suicide prevention pledge. In line with the theme of the event, students from the Mental Health Department conducted role-plays and health education sessions with patients in the department's outpatient clinic, raising awareness about suicide prevention.

Several competitions such as health education, essay writing, skits, and speeches were organized. B.Sc. Nursing third-year and GNM second-year students actively participated. In the health education category, Aanchal Patel secured first place, followed by Lakshita Sonigra in second, and Manish Dangi in third. In the essay competition, Radhe Gulab Ojha secured first place, with Elbin Sibi and Rupesh Malviya taking second and third, respectively. Varsha Gurjar took first place in the speech competition, followed by Rajveer Singh in second, and Anurag Menaria in third.

The program was coordinated by Assistant Professor of Mental Health Nursing, Prahlad Nayak.
