Dr. Devendra Sareen, the keynote speaker, illuminated the importance of breastfeeding during a seminar organized under the auspices of World Breastfeeding Week at Rajkiya Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Tekri.
Dr Sareen stressed that using feeding bottles increases instances of diarrhoea, pneumonia, and malnutrition in children. He advocated for exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months. The event, jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Udaipur, Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital,
Rotary Club Udaipur Vasudha, IAP Udaipur, and Innerwheel Club continued with Dr Nalini Sharma, a women's health specialist, discussing breastfeeding's benefits for mothers. The program encouraged nutritious food for lactating mothers. Various experts shared insights on breastfeeding's structure and benefits.
The event also featured a quiz for schoolgirls, with winners duly rewarded. The school's Principal, Mrs Alok, welcomed the guests, and Mrs Kailash Mali coordinated the successful event. The vote of thanks was given by Rotary Club Secretary, Mrs Anju Singhvi.
The program was successfully coordinated with assistance from Mrs Meena Mandot and Mrs Garima Bordia. Special presence was observed by Rotary Vasudha's Sharad Rathore and Kiran Tanted. Alok Sharma from Geetanjali highlighted that a morning session will be organized at 11 am for women at Kshiksha Bhawan Chowk's slum. basti
