 ### GMCH :Grand Convocation Ceremony Scheduled for September 6

The Geetanjali University Convocation - 2024 is set to take place on September 6, 2024, at the Sw. Narmada Devi Agarwal Auditorium within the Geetanjali University campus. On this prestigious occasion, degrees will be awarded to 844 healthcare professionals, and 43 gold medals will be presented to students who have secured the highest marks in their final exams. Additionally, five best graduates will also be honored with gold medals.


The Chief Guest for Convocation - 2024 will be Honorable Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Government of India. The event will also be graced by the presence of Shri J.P. Agarwal, Chairman of Geetanjali Group and Chancellor of Geetanjali University, who will confer degrees and gold medals to the graduates, postgraduates, and doctorate recipients.

Furthermore, the Honoris Causa Emeritus Professors title will be awarded to former Vice-Chancellor Dr. F.S. Mehta and Senior Neurologist Dr. A.A. Saifi for their unforgettable contributions to the medical field.

The convocation will also be attended by Geetanjali University Vice-Chancellor Dr. S.K. Luhadia, Vice-Chairman of Geetanjali Group Shri Kapil Agarwal, Executive Director Shri Ankit Agarwal, and Geetanjali University Registrar Shri Mayur Rawal.

During the press conference, Registrar Shri Mayur Rawal mentioned that all institutes under Geetanjali University are recognized by their respective statutory bodies. To date, approximately 8,500 students have been admitted to the university, out of which 4,200 have received their degrees. These students are now working as competent healthcare professionals across the country. He also shared that the current student strength of the university is 3,476, including 1,460 in Medical, 171 in Allied Health Sciences, 491 in Dental, 473 in Pharmacy, 458 in Nursing, 358 in Physiotherapy, 14 in Fellowship, and 51 in Ph.D. programs. The total faculty strength stands at 770.

There are currently 51 Ph.D. scholars, and 14 students enrolled in fellowship programs, with 12 having already received their fellowship degrees. The total number of research publications for the year 2023-24 is 120, with eight patent publications, four patents approved, three copyrights, 343 ongoing research projects, and four national conferences held so far.

Geetanjali University is a member of the ‘Global Partnership for Educational Exchange in Medicine and the Health Professions’ (GEMx). The university has also initiated international collaborations for student exchange programs with the Royal College of Surgeons, National University of Singapore, and MSAI, enabling students to study both abroad and in India.

During the press conference, Executive Director Shri Ankit Agarwal announced the upcoming construction of a sports complex at Geetanjali University, where students will receive international-level training. He also mentioned the launch of a research policy that includes research grants and funding.

The construction of an Ayurvedic College was also announced, which will commence soon. Additionally, a Sarai Ghar (guest house) will be built to provide affordable accommodation and meals for the families of patients suffering from cancer, heart diseases, neurological conditions, and more.
