Scheduled for release on August 9, the Marathi film 'Dharmaveer 2: Mukkam Post Thane' incorporates facts related to the struggle-filled journey of the late Anand Dighe, a dedicated social worker and leader known as 'Dharmaveer' during his lifetime. The film highlights his profound influence on the Thane region of Maharashtra and his enduring legacy. Directed by Pravin Tarde, the film features veteran actor Prasad Oak in the role of Anand Dighe, while Kshitij Date brings the young Eknath Shinde to life on screen.
At the event, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reminisced about the late Anand Dighe, stating, "Dighe Sahib's legacy was first presented to audiences in the film 'Dharmaveer', but his contributions are so extensive that they cannot be contained in a single film. Therefore, the story has been extended into two parts. This new film aims to highlight important aspects of his impactful past. We aspire to follow in the footsteps of Dighe Sahib and Balasaheb Thackeray, dedicating ourselves entirely to their legacy. Dighe Sahib not only supported Hindutva but also protected the entire society, helping people of all religions, castes, and creeds without disappointment. No needy person ever left without assistance from him."
Bollywood star Salman Khan added, "I attended the screening of the first film, and it was a big hit. I hope and pray that this one will be an even bigger hit." Directed by Pravin Tarde, 'Dharmaveer 2: Mukkam Post Thane' is expected to be a cinematic milestone, showcasing the extraordinary journey of a leader dedicated to the nation, inspiring people for generations to come.
