The Green People Society, committed to environmental conservation, held its monthly meeting on Monday at Aranya Kuteer under the chairmanship of retired IFS officer Rahul Bhatnagar. The meeting focused on the progress of the society's ongoing activities and detailed discussions on the upcoming events.
Bhatnagar announced that in celebration of World Tiger Day, programs will be organized on July 29 and 30 under the aegis of the Wildlife Division, GPS, and WWF. On the first day, July 29, students will be educated about tigers at Sajjangarh Bio Park, followed by expert talks and a movie show at Chetak Circle on July 30.
He also shared that on August 3, the society will conduct a tree plantation drive near Sanjay Gandhi Park at Fatehsagar Pal. The tree plantation event organized on Guru Purnima on July 21 at Fatehsagar Pal under the supervision of society member Yaseen Pathan was praised in the meeting.
The meeting also highlighted books authored by society president Rahul Bhatnagar and member secretary Satish Sharma, with members congratulating both authors. A proposal by Shyam Dave to include Nectar McQueen as an honorary member of the society was unanimously approved.
In the end, society members expressed their condolences and paid tribute to the late environmentalist and former PCCF HOFF Dr. G.V. Reddy, who passed away suddenly. Present at the meeting were society members Lalit Joshi, Gaurav Dwivedi, Yaseen Pathan, P.S. Chundawat, Ismail Ali Durga, Suhail Majboor, V.S. Rana, among others.
