Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava, Head and Divisional Librarian at Kota, delivered a compelling presentation as a Lead Paper Presenter during the Five-day MAIDEN International Conference. Organized by the esteemed Faculty of Education, Department of Library and Information Science at the Federal University of LAFIA, the event convened experts to explore strategies for revitalizing library services to meet the evolving needs of patrons in the digital age.

As the 21st century presents unprecedented challenges and opportunities for libraries, Dr. Shrivastava emphasized the imperative for adaptation. The digital revolution has fundamentally altered how information is accessed and consumed, necessitating a transformation in libraries to remain relevant and indispensable.

In his presentation, Dr. Shrivastava addressed the evolving needs of patrons, emphasizing the pivotal role libraries play in the digital age. He advocated for innovative strategies to revitalize library services, ensuring they better serve communities in this dynamic era.

Under the esteemed chairmanship of Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, the conference also saw the participation of notable figures including Professor Josephine Odey, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Fulafia, and Dr. Faga Asom, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science at Fulafia.

Keynote Speaker, Professor Jibril Attahiru Alhassan, along with Ambassador Samuel W. Jimba and Professor V.N. Nwanchukwu, further enriched the conference with their valuable insights.

Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava concluded by asserting that the digital age has ushered in a new era for libraries, where technology, information, and community engagement converge to present both challenges and opportunities. He stressed the vital role of libraries as knowledge hubs, providing digital literacy, personalized learning, and innovative services to meet the evolving needs of patrons.
