Training Workshop on Transparency in Public Procurement

Udaipur : A three-day training program on the topic of "Transparency in Public Procurement" was organized by the Public Financial Management and Training Institute, Jaipur, at the Cultural Resource and Training Center, Regional Office. The Institute’s Joint Director, Parshuram Saini (Raj. Accounts Service), shared that the institute has previously conducted various training programs on topics related to finance, including Project Management, Auction Management, Initiatives of the Finance Department, Alternative and Innovative Funding Mechanisms, Public-Private Partnerships, Budget Management, Finance for Non-Finance Executives, IFMS, and others. These programs have trained nearly 4,000 government officials and employees.

In the concluding session, the Chief Guest, Tulsi Ram Agarwal, Additional Director of the Local Fund Audit Department, welcomed the Finance Department’s initiative and highlighted the importance of the training. He spoke about the Rajasthan government’s leadership role in making government procurement transparent. He emphasized the need for civil servants to understand the core objectives of these laws. 

Saini further explained that subject matter experts in the three-day training program included Tulsi Ram Agarwal, Nirmal Chittoda, Retired Additional Chief Engineer, P.H.E.D. Udaipur; Dalpat Singh Rathod, Chief Accounts Officer, Udaipur Development Authority; Gaurav Somani, Project Officer, District Council Rajsamand; Anil Jain, Retired Additional Chief Engineer, P.H.E.D. Ajmer; and Chartered Accountant Nikhil Chittoda.

The main objective of the training was to bring transparency in government procurement, provide equal opportunities for all, and address the various challenges faced by departments in day-to-day procurement activities.
