Udaipur - PIMS Hospital in Umrada has successfully conducted a cochlear implant surgery on a post-lingual patient, marking a first for southern Rajasthan. Chairman Ashish Agrawal reported that the patient, Sita Devi from Chittorgarh, lost her hearing ability due to a viral infection last December. The successful surgery has now restored her hearing.
This groundbreaking operation involved the expertise of Dr. Vikramsingh Rathore, the head of the ENT department at PIMS, Umrada, along with Dr. Aditi Sharma, Dr. Nabil Sindhi, Dr. Neha, Dr. Satyam, Dr. Sakshi, Dr. Shubham, and anesthesiologists and the OT staff. Audiologist Dr. Gaurav Sharma also played a crucial role in the procedure.
