Successful Treatment of Premature Babies in a Short Time

Udaipur: Doctors at the Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital (PIMS) in Umarada have successfully treated three babies born at 26 and 28 weeks. Dr. Amit Kumar Panchal led the treatment.

Among the three babies, one born at 26 weeks weighed 700 grams. Due to the premature birth, the baby was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for specialized care. The baby was discharged after being kept in the NICU for a full 60 days.

Similarly, two babies born at 28 weeks weighed 800 grams. The babies faced issues related to breathing, underdeveloped lungs, and difficulties in digesting milk. In this endeavor, Dr. Vivek Parasrur, Dr. Rahul Khatri, Dr. Prajna Digra, Resident Doctors Neha, Tanmay, Vaisali, Nursing Incharge Ashok, Kuldeep, Nursing Officer Rashi, Varsha, Deepak, Amit, Bhawar, Rekha, Reena, Rahul, and Kalpana played important roles.

Chairman of PIMS, Ashish Agrawal, stated that all three babies are currently healthy and have received free treatment under the Lifelong Health Plan.
