Workshop on “Sustainable Construction Materials”

Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur emphasizing the role of sustainability in modern construction practices and highlighting the vision of the university's unwavering commitment to contributing to sustainability initiatives organized a hands-on workshop on "Sustainable Construction Materials" on October 07, 2023.

The workshop attracted more than 60 enthusiastic participants from Industry and colleges nearby, who shared a common dedication to advancing sustainable practices. The compelling panel discussion on "Sustainability and Construction" had experts from Industry and Academia, including Er. Rahul Mathur, Director of GCPL, Dr. Manish Verma, Professor, Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur, Dr. Bhavana Adhikari, Dean Academics, Mr. Avinash Ojha, Head Civil Engg and Mr. Aman Jain, Assistant Professor SPSU. The engaging discussion explored various aspects of sustainability in construction, offering valuable insights into the topic. The sessions organized in the workshop aimed at the innovative use of waste materials in cement concrete and the importance of sustainable construction materials in contemporary engineering practices. Dr. Lokesh Gupta in the experiential learning session focused on innovative construction mix in highway engineering. The workshop also witnessed the unveiling of a skill enhancement program by Prof. Darpan Anand – Associate Dean, a 5-day hands-on training program on "Progressive Sustainable Pathways in Civil Engineering." The workshop marked a significant milestone, inspiring a collective commitment to sustainable practices within the realm of civil engineering.
