SPSU Celebrates Engineers Day

Promoting technological innovations and new age learning Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur celebrated Engineers Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The President and Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee in the opening remarks paid tribute to Dr. M. Visveswaraya- the iconic engineer of the Nation and also commemorated the founder Chairperson and Chancellor of the University Late Shri Yadupati Singhania for his visionary leadership, business acumen and transformative contributions to the cement industry. Commending the technological advancements of the Nation and focusing on the Engineer’s Day theme 2023- Engineering for a Sustainable Future she applauded the invaluable contributions of the engineers towards societal development, emphasized on social engineering, stressed on the efforts of G20 summit, and urged to put in collective efforts for building a better community, better world and a more inclusive and sustainable future. Dr. Arun Kumar, Dean, School of Engineering highlighted the achievements of School of engineering, incorporation of the National Education Policy 2020 into the curriculum and the University's continued progress in the field of research, student placements and faculty development. The Pro President, Col. (Dr.) Sanjiv Tomar focusing on the innovative technology drew attention on the need for research collaborations in the multidisciplinary domains for the benefit of mankind and the Nation at large.

The pivotal role played by the faculty for nurturing engineers and fostering co-creation was acknowledged by Dean Academics, Dr. Bhavana Adhikari. Dr. Darpan Anand, Associate Dean through various examples of Leaning Tower of Pisa, Macau bridge Hongkong, Ram Setu etc. brought to light the fascinating aspects of engineering excellence. Registrar, Dr. Naveen Kumar, Proctor Dr. Deepak Vyas and other faculty members too expressed their views about human engineering in the open house discussion. The event featured various student activities, including technical quizzes and speeches, aimed at raising awareness and revering the contributions of engineers to the nation's development. Dr. Tulika Chakraborty and Dr. Ritesh Tirole successfully coordinated the entire event, which was witnessed by the University's faculty, students and the entire SPSU fraternity.
