Legal Awareness and Assistance Camp Organized by Sangam University Law School

Sangam University Law School organized a free legal assistance and awareness camp with the guidance of Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Karunesh Saxena and Secretary Professor (Dr.) Rajiv Mehta. The purpose of the camp, led by the university's law students, was to spread awareness and ensure fair and impartial legal procedures for girls and women at Mahatma Gandhi Government Girls' School in Mangrop. The event was graced by retired Judge Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma,  Pro. Vice-Chancellor of Sangam University Professor (Dr.) Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, Principal of Mangrop School Ms. Vandana Kaushik, and respected member of the District Legal Services Authority, Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sharma.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Manas Ranjan Panigrahi highlighted the increasing prevalence of cybercrime due to the growing use of computers, laptops, and mobile phones. He emphasized the threat cybercrime poses to the security and financial well-being of the nation, society, and individuals. Chief guest Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma and honorable guest Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sharma provided valuable insights into the protection of women's rights, prevention of domestic violence, Right to Education Act, prohibition of child marriage, free legal assistance, victim compensation schemes, mediation, and the dimensions of the District Legal Services Authority.

Sangam University students actively participated in the event, conducting street plays and speeches to successfully raise legal awareness. The program concluded with Dr. Omprakash Somkunwar, the Executive Patron of the Law Department, expressing gratitude. The coordination of the event was facilitated by coordinators Shashank Shekhar Singh and Aditya Dadhich, along with the contributions of Avtar Choubey and Gaurav Saxena from the University Legal Aid Committee. Members from the Law Department, including Dr. Sonakshi Sharma, Vartika Mishra, Dr. Govardhan Lal Pandey, and members from the Pharmacy Department, Gaurav Sharma and Sumitra Sharma, played crucial roles in the success of the program.
