Hindustan Zinc Wins 7 Awards in the 27th Bhamashah Awards for Contributions to Education*

Hindustan Zinc has been honored with seven prestigious awards in the 27th Bhamashah Awards for its remarkable contributions in the field of education, initiatives, and projects. Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter, a unit of Hindustan Zinc, secured the first position in these awards. The awards also recognized the significant educational contributions made by Zinc Smelter Debari, Rajpura Dariba Complex, Jawar Mines, Rampura Agucha Mine, Kayad Mine, and the Central CSR Team.

These awards were presented at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur, with the presence of Chief Guest Dr. B.D. Kalla, Minister of Education; Navin Jain, Principal Secretary of the Education Department; Dr. Kanaram, Director of Education; Chitra Gupta, Special Secretary of the Education Department; and Kishor Kumar, Additional Secretary of the Education Department.

Hindustan Zinc has consistently supported girls' education and has provided every possible assistance for their success. These awards highlight Hindustan Zinc's commitment to quality education and strengthening the literacy rate by enabling access to quality education in rural communities. They further bolster the credibility of Hindustan Zinc's CSR initiatives, showcasing their dedication to improving the educational infrastructure and resources.

Hindustan Zinc's units have contributed approximately 26.33 crore INR towards these projects. Rampura Agucha has spent 1.78 crore INR on these initiatives.

These efforts have included additional arrangements for Mathematics, English, and Science teachers in government secondary and higher secondary schools, renovation of schools, construction of Nandghars (modernized Anganwadis), coaching for IIT aspirants under the Udaan program, support for students in pursuing higher education at the Rings College, provision of libraries and laboratories, workshops for teachers, summer training camps for teachers, and the mainstreaming of appointed teachers under the Education Balancing Project. Hindustan Zinc has successfully impacted over 2.5 lakh children annually through its educational projects.
