To curb road accidents happening in Udaipur district headquarters and surrounding areas, on the initiative of Divisional Commissioner Rajendra Bhatt, the 'Save a Life' campaign is being run under the joint auspices of District Administration. To make the city accident-free and take stock of the campaign activities, Divisional Commissioner Rajendra Bhatt came down the road on Sunday morning, walked for about an hour, and gave necessary instructions to the concerned authorities for smooth traffic by removing haphazard parking and encroachment on the roadside.
Walking tour from Chetak to Dehli Gate:
Divisional Commissioner Rajendra Bhatt suddenly reached Chetak Circle alone at 10.30 am on Sunday and saw the activities being carried out here along with ECON Institute and Traffic Police. Traffic Police Deputy Superintendent Kushal Chordia and ECON Group's Shubham Taylia informed the Divisional Commissioner about the activities here. He expressed happiness to see the lane management activities at Chetak Circle and smooth traffic movement due to this. After this, he left here on foot towards Dehligate, and wherever haphazard parking and encroachment were seen on the roadside, he removed it. During this, he saw the efforts being made by the volunteers and traffic police officers to put two-wheelers in one lane and three-wheelers and four-wheelers in separate streets at Court Square, Collectorate, Dehligate, and Hathi Pole.
If vehicles are seen outside the shop from tomorrow, the shop will be closed:
When many two-wheelers and four-wheelers were seen parked outside restaurants, medicines, and flower shops near Chetak Circle, Divisional Commissioner Bhatt called the concerned shopkeepers and, in a stern tone, directed them to remove the vehicles immediately. He said that it is the shopkeepers' responsibility to park their customers' vehicles at the designated place. If customers' vehicles are seen parked outside your shop from tomorrow, the shop will be closed. Similarly, he also removed the bikes parked by some youths on the roadside and said that this causes pedestrians problems and increases the chances of accidents. Seeing the Divisional Commissioner roaming the roads like this, the drivers removed their vehicles from the roadside and kept them at the designated parking place. At the same time, the shopkeepers also removed their goods, boards, etc., deposited on the road.
Instructions were given to fill potholes on the roadside:
Divisional Commissioner Bhatt, during his tour, observed the potholes and the water filled in the roadside parking lots and directed the Municipal Corporation officials to serve them immediately and improve the parking places. Similarly, he instructed us to make arrangements for making a fixed yellow line for roadside parking and a white line for the lane on the road. He said proper signage should also be used to park the vehicles on the roadside at designated places.

Divisional Commissioner Bhatt also interacted with the drivers standing in the lane at Dehli Gate and following the traffic rules and advised them to follow the directions to save them from accidents. During this, he also presented Road Safety Award on behalf of the ECON Institute to two-wheeler drivers wearing helmets and four-wheelers wearing seat belts.

ECHON Group Chairman Dr. Jitendra Kumar Taylia said that on Sunday, the institute and the traffic police, along with about 100 volunteers and 100 traffic police officers, carried out lane management activities for 3 hours at three significant circles of the city, Delhi Gate, Chetak Circle, and Hathipol. Under this, traffic was made smooth by convincing two-wheelers to move in one lane and other vehicles in the other. Due to these activities, there was no jam at all these places. Deputy Superintendents of Police Kushal Chordia, Shubham Taylia, Nikhil Nahar, Kuldeep Mathur, Jagdev Singh, Deepak Modi, and 100 volunteers from ECHON Group and Darshan Dental College and traffic police personnel were present during the lane management work.
