A breast cancer awareness program was organized at Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital during the month of "Pink October." Approximately 300 students from various institutions, including Geetanjali Institute of Pharmacy, Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute, Geetanjali College of Nursing, Gayatri College of Nursing, Saraswati College of Nursing, and Sunrise College of Nursing, participated in this awareness event.
The program featured guest speakers, including the Chief Operating Officer of Geetanjali Hospital, Mr. Rishi Kumar, and Medical Superintendent Dr. Harpreet Singh, who enlightened the students about the significance of breast cancer.
Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Anjana Varma, used multimedia presentations to explain the risk factors and prevention of breast cancer to the students. Cancer specialist Dr. Renu Mishra provided insights into the signs, symptoms, screening, and early detection of breast cancer. She also stressed the importance of regular self-examinations.
Following these informative sessions, a Q&A session was held, where Dr. Anjana Varma and Dr. Renu Mishra answered the students' questions. The event also included a breast cancer quiz.
