Geetanjali College and School of Nursing Organizes National Webinar on Cervical Cancer Awareness
Udaipur - Geetanjali College and School of Nursing observed Cervical Cancer Awareness Week, organized by the Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing Department. As part of the week-long activities, a National Webinar on cervical cancer was conducted on January 29, 2024, with the participation of 270 individuals. The webinar provided information on symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cervical cancer.
During the webinar, Dr. Vijaya Ajmera, Dean, and members of the department led a rally at the Rajkiya Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Dhol Ki Pati (Girwa), Udaipur, on January 27, 2024. Senior nursing students actively participated in the rally, where they displayed green flags. Subsequently, discussions were held with rural women about the symptoms, diagnosis, vaccination (HPV vaccine), and prevention of cervical cancer.
In the school, awareness about disease prevention measures, primarily vaccination, was emphasized through a play performed by students. The program concluded with a quiz competition, encouraging student participation and the distribution of awards to boost enthusiasm for health education. According to participant feedback, the Cervical Cancer Awareness Webinar was found to be useful, with a satisfaction rate of up to 95%.
