Bhilwara . District Election Officer Namit Mehta inspected the second training session held on Sunday at the Maharana Pratap Auditorium of the Municipal Council to provide information on the laws and regulations of the Election Commission of India and to ensure proficiency for sector officers and police officers appointed at polling centers for the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 in the Bhilwara parliamentary constituency, which includes assembly election areas. A total of 212 sector officers and 191 police officers participated in the training.
During the training, District Election Officer Namit Mehta emphasized the crucial role of sector officers and police officers in ensuring independent, impartial, and fear-free voting. He urged all sector officers and police officers to understand their duties and responsibilities thoroughly.
He addressed the trainees and directed them to strictly adhere to the protocol of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and to avoid any kind of negligence.
He emphasized that the sector officer is the closest official to the polling team on voting day, so any issues arising during the voting process are first addressed by them. He instructed them not to have any doubts regarding the tasks, reports, and intricacies associated with the voting process, from pre-voting to post-voting and completion of the election process.
Training in-charge Mohammed Tahir explained that the attending sector officers were provided with comprehensive information about their duties through PowerPoint presentations. During the session, a mock poll process with EVMs and hands-on practice was conducted.
