Dr. Purohit's Writing Will Remain Immortal

Throughout my life, I have encountered many talented individuals from whom I have continuously learned and drawn inspiration. One such remarkable personality from Jaisalmer was Dr. Jagdish Kumar Purohit, under whom I studied privately for my B.Com and M.Com (Accounting and Statistics). For almost five years, I attended tuitions at his home. Dr. Purohit was a lecturer at Jaisalmer Government College. He was an exceptional teacher, poet, and novelist. Recently, Dr. Purohit passed away at the age of 65 after a prolonged illness.

Dr. Jagdish Purohit, a resident of Jaisalmer, was a sociable, gentle, humble, and cheerful person. He was not only an excellent speaker but also possessed a creative talent and was a highly respected scholar. Born on May 22, 1959, in Jaisalmer, his father was a police inspector. From an early age, Dr. Purohit excelled academically, consistently achieving first-class results in B.Com, M.Com, M.Phil, and Ph.D. Later, he served as a lecturer in Jaisalmer and Barmer for many years and retired as the principal of Jaisalmer College.

Dr. Purohit had a keen interest in writing and regularly contributed research articles to national journals and magazines. His poetry collection "Veerane Khwab" beautifully describes human emotions, relationships, love, nature, women, compassion, and beauty. His novel "Kadwa Sach" delves into the challenges and struggles of a police officer's life. "Vimata Ke Aansoo" reflects the expression of the mind, while another book in English, "Hinduism," explains Hinduism in simple language. His book on Jaisalmer highlights the city's culture, tourist attractions, and folk traditions.

Due to my deep interest in writing and culture, Dr. Purohit always showed me great affection and respect. He actively participated in the discussions and events organized at the Thar Heritage Museum, which I founded. Working with him provided me with numerous creative insights and guidance.

Truly, Dr. Jagdish Purohit was a great talent in the literary and cultural fields of the desert region of Jaisalmer. The literature he created will remain an everlasting treasure of knowledge for researchers, students, and the general public.
