Ensure Public Participation in Yoga Day Program: ADM Ratan Kumar

Bhilwara : In preparation for the International Yoga Day event scheduled for June 21 at the district headquarters, a review meeting was held on Friday under the direction of District Collector Shri Namit Mehta. Additional District Collector Administration Shri Ratan Kumar, ADM City Smt. Vandana Khorwal, various yoga organizations, and related officials attended the meeting at the Collectorate auditorium. The preparations were reviewed, responsibilities were assigned, and necessary instructions were given for their execution. The International Yoga Day event will be held from 7 am to 8 am at the district headquarters, all sub-division headquarters, and gram panchayat headquarters.

On this occasion, ADC Shri Ratan Kumar emphasized that yoga is a great gift from India to the world. In the current times, people are battling numerous physical and mental illnesses, and yoga can prove to be very beneficial. While many people are already benefiting from yoga, it needs to be more widely promoted. He urged officials to ensure active participation from officers, public representatives, students, and the general public in the Yoga Day program. He also provided necessary instructions to the Ayurveda department to make the program successful and effective.

ADM City Vandana Khorwal mentioned that Yoga Day programs will be organized from the district level to the block and gram panchayat levels. She stressed the need for dedicated efforts to make these programs successful and meaningful. The district-level event will be held at Chitrakoot Dham of the Municipal Council, where skilled yoga instructors will conduct sessions as per the prescribed protocol. The event will see participation from officers, public representatives, athletes, students, NSS and NCC cadets, and the general public. She instructed for proper promotion of the event and ensured all arrangements, including first aid and ambulance services.

During the meeting, representatives from various yoga organizations shared their suggestions for the successful organization of the event and highlighted the importance of yoga. Ayurveda Department's Deputy Director and District Nodal Officer Dr. O.P. Nagar and Assistant Nodal Officer Dr. G.L. Sharma provided updates on the preparations so far.

Present at the meeting were Municipal Council Commissioner Shri Hemaram, Treasury Officer Tina Rolania, District Youth Officer Shri Sumit Yadav, Deputy Director of Social Justice and Empowerment Department Shri Satyapal Jangid, RCHO Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, District Education Officer Shri Yogesh Chandra Pareek, and other district-level officials and representatives from yoga organizations, including Manju Pokharna and other prominent citizens.
