### District Collector Holds Disaster Management Meeting for Rainwater Disposal Preparations

**Bhilwara,– District Collector Namit Mehta conducted a meeting with all SDMs and block-level officers to review preparations for the ongoing heavy rainfall. He emphasized the need for officials to assess field situations and ensure immediate relief to the public.

Mehta directed the immediate availability of mud pumps and other resources to address waterlogging in basements, coaching centers, educational institutions, and public buildings. He instructed urban local bodies to arrange alternative waste collection to prevent accumulation and ensure road repairs and drain cleaning.

The District Collector stressed monitoring waterlogged areas, especially around children, and placing cautionary signage to prevent accidents. Schools were advised to educate children about the dangers of visiting dams and ponds during prayer assemblies.

Mehta, via video conferencing, instructed officials to identify and evacuate residents from old and dilapidated buildings, ensuring alternative accommodations in schools, dharamshalas, and community halls.

Reports indicated that reservoirs in the district were nearly full, prompting special precautions for downstream villages. Mehta emphasized the need for medical kits, life-saving drugs, mobile medical teams, and the application of insecticides and fogging in waterlogged areas.

A control room was established at 01482-232671 for public reporting of waterlogging issues.
