###Break a Bottle, Save a Life": Dr. Sarin
**Udaipur: On the fourth day of World Breastfeeding Week, organized jointly by Rotary Club Udaipur, Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, and IAP Udaipur Branch, a discussion was held with women in the slum area opposite the railway station.**
Dr. Devendra Sarin, Head of the Pediatric Department, was the keynote speaker and emphasized the slogan "Break a Bottle, Save a Life." Members of Rotary Club Achievers also participated in the event.
The team of doctors visited homes in the slum to promote breastfeeding and distributed informative pamphlets on the subject. Dr. Sarin explained to the women that feeding babies with bottles is extremely harmful, leading to higher incidences of diarrhea and pneumonia in children. He urged them to avoid bottle feeding under any circumstances.
Achievers President Dr. Jitendra Bahl requested mothers to consume nutritious food during childbirth. Achievers' patron Madhu Sarin stressed the importance of breastfeeding newborns within half to one hour of birth. Secretary Himanshu Kaushal emphasized exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months.
Promila Bahl, Jyoti Mehra, Dr. Jyotsna Kumawat, and other members of Achievers, including Asha, were present at the event. On Monday, a discussion on breastfeeding will be held with lactating mothers in the maternity ward of Geetanjali Hospital at 11 AM.
