Heroic Queen Rani Durgavati's Legacy Brought to Life

**Udaipur,  On Sunday, the grand play 'Kushal Veerangana Rani Durgavati' was performed at Shilpgram's Darpan Auditorium under the joint aegis of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, and the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), New Delhi, as part of the monthly theatre event 'Rangshala' celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.


Furqan Khan, Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, explained that the play, presented by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training from New Delhi, is staged on the first Sunday of every month under 'Rangshala.' This grand play was a tribute to the 500th birth anniversary of the great heroine, Rani Durgavati. The play was conceived and directed by Dr. Vinod Narayan Indurkar, President of CCRT, with production lead by Rajeev Kumar, Director of CCRT, and written by Julesha Siddharth, a CCRT scholar. The audience greatly appreciated the vibrant performances. At the end, all the performers were honored.

The event saw the presence of CCRT Chairman Dr. Vinod Narayan Indurkar, Director Rajeev Kumar, writer Julesha Siddharth, other CCRT officials, and officers and employees of the West Zone Cultural Centre. The program began with Pawan Amarawat, Program Officer, Superintendent Engineer C.L. Salvi, and Program Incharge Hemant Mehta welcoming the guests with shawls and flower bouquets. CCRT Deputy Director Rahul Kumar extended the vote of thanks, and the program was anchored by Durgesh Chandwani.

**The Story of the Play**

The story revolves around the heroic queen Rani Durgavati, who bravely and skillfully confronted the might of the Mughal Empire. Armed with two swords, Rani Durgavati marched into battle. Like many other brave women of her time, she chose death over being captured by the enemy, making her name one of the most revered in history for her glorious sacrifice.
