State Government Initiative to Enhance Life Skills for Tribal Students

Udaipur,  Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state government is committed to empowering tribal youth across various sectors. As part of this commitment, life skills training is set to begin for students residing in tribal hostels and residential schools. An MoU has been signed between the Tribal Area Development (TAD) Department and Magic Bus India Foundation to facilitate this initiative.

Minister of Tribal Area Development, Babulal Kharadi, spearheaded the agreement, which outlines a program led by teachers and wardens to deliver activity-based life skills education tailored to the specific needs of the state's tribal communities. This program will be implemented across 53 residential schools and 440 hostels in 25 districts, benefiting approximately 42,000 tribal students.

Three-Year Program Timeline:

According to Pragya Kevalramani, Commissioner of the Tribal Area Development Department, the program will span three years. In the first year, master trainers will be selected and trained, a curriculum will be developed, and life skills sessions will commence in hostels and residential schools. The second year will focus on evaluating life skills outcomes using a Holistic Progress Card (HPC), increasing monitoring efforts, and launching a WhatsApp-based AI chatbot, Magic Mitr, for real-time tracking. In the third year, the program's sustainability and monitoring systems will be strengthened to ensure its continued effectiveness.

The initiative will also involve training teachers, wardens, and assistant wardens from 493 ashram hostels and residential schools in life skills, preparing them to educate students from grades 6 to 12.

Transformative Educational Platform Established:

Jayanth Rastogi, Global CEO of Magic Bus India Foundation, highlighted that the partnership with the Rajasthan government will address the challenges faced by students in tribal communities, who often live in resource-limited areas. By providing life skills education, the program aims to help these students overcome difficulties and achieve success. This partnership will contribute to their development, creating a strong foundation for the future of tribal communities.

The MoU marks a significant step towards creating an inclusive educational platform in Rajasthan, aimed at positively advancing the future of students. The state government remains committed to providing comprehensive education alongside traditional schooling. Through this agreement, the goal is to enhance students' self-confidence, ambition, and capabilities, enabling them to achieve better outcomes in schools and contribute actively to their communities.

Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani emphasized that this initiative aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and the collaboration with Magic Bus India Foundation is a critical step toward achieving these goals. The aim is to equip students with life skills, fostering self-reliance and active community participation, thus driving sustainable progress and prosperity in Rajasthan's tribal communities.
