Udaipur, True happiness and joy are found within the heart, and not in the materialistic, fleeting pleasures of the external world. This message was conveyed by Professor Mohan Das Hegde, Director of SMSF Heartfulness Research Center, during a Heartfulness Workshop at MPUAT's Community Science College. He emphasized that in today’s fast-paced world, individuals often overlook their spiritual growth. By connecting with the voice of the heart, qualities like contentment, peace, affection, courage, and clarity naturally develop, guiding us through life’s challenges.
Prof. Hegde revealed that many young professionals from prestigious institutions like IITs, IIMs, and medical sciences are currently pursuing PhDs under his guidance, researching spirituality at Mysore University. He linked happiness with the increasing stress, illness, and competition prevalent in society today. He shared that the practice of Heartfulness meditation, rooted in Raja Yoga, offers relief from these issues and leads to success in life. This meditation technique, which is simple and free, is practiced in over 160 countries worldwide.
The event saw active participation from department heads, faculty members, administrative staff, and over 100 students. Dr. Subodh Sharma, a Heartfulness trainer, along with program coordinators Shri Mohan Borana, Mrs. Madhu Singhvi, Ravi Singhvi, and Himanshu Dave, were instrumental in the program's success. Dr. Dhriti Solanki, Dean of the Community Science College, welcomed attendees, emphasizing the importance of such workshops in extracurricular activities. Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. Rupal Babel, expressed her gratitude, highlighting that the students were deeply inspired by the meditation practice and pledged to focus on their work, maintain discipline, and develop a positive outlook on life.
Senior Heartfulness trainer Dr. K.K. Saxena shared details about a spiritual journey undertaken earlier that day. Led by Prof. Hegde and Zonal Head Mrs. Madhu Mehta, a convoy of 40 practitioners traveled across Udaipur, offering prayers for divine blessings to envelop the city. Starting from Sukhadia Circle, the journey passed through prominent city landmarks, concluding back at Sukhadia Circle.
The workshop concluded with an evening session chaired by regional head Mrs. Madhu Mehta and led by Prof. Hegde at the Heartfulness Center in Saheli Nagar.
