Radha Ashtami Festival Celebrated with Devotion at ISKCON Center

Banswara: The ISKCON center in Subhash Nagar, Professor Colony, Banswara, celebrated Radha Ashtami with great devotion and enthusiasm. The festival included Harinam Sankirtan, a special offering of 56 varieties of food, abhishekam with 108 names, and special darshan of Radha's adorned form. The celebrations also featured prayers and aarti performed by the devotees.

On this occasion, Abhinandan Nimai Prabhu from ISKCON Banswara explained that the Radha Tattva represents spiritual love, sacrifice, and service. It is considered the key to unlocking the deeper mysteries of the soul. Some other qualities of Radha include:

Infinite compassion towards those who wish to serve

Providing the opportunity to serve Shri Hari with grace

The sole desire to make Lord Krishna pleased

Radha Tattva is also known as Hladini Shakti, the pure blissful energy, and Krishna-mayi.

Abhay Gauranga Das Prabhu delivered a heartfelt discourse, narrating the Shri Radha Ashtakshara Stotra. He explained that Radha Ashtami, the appearance day of Radha, is a profoundly auspicious and beneficial time. The festival signifies one's dedication to Krishna through loving service.

The morning program at the ISKCON center included Mangala Aarti at 4:30 AM, Jay Dhwani, Nrisimha Aarti, Tulsi Aarti, Shikshashtakshara, Naam Aparadha, Naam Japa, Shringar Aarti, Guru Puja, and Prabhupada's discourse, followed by a Nagar Sankirtan.

Radha and Krishna: One Divine Essence

Radha is not separate but the embodiment of Krishna’s consciousness and blissful energy. Those who realize Radha, realize Krishna as well; and conversely, realizing Krishna also means realizing Radha. Radha embodies all the highest sentiments of Krishna’s divine play, including His charm, beauty, grace, and compassion. Without Radha, Krishna’s existence would be incomplete.

Krishna has always been accompanied by Radha, and through her, He could relinquish everything—His parents, His childhood home, His flute, and even His kingdom. Radha represents the eternal essence of divine love and devotion, embracing everything Krishna leaves behind.

Radha’s essence is described in the following mantras:

Om Aing Hring Shring Shree Radhaaya Namah

Om Bhagavati Raasaraaseshvaraye Namah

Om Mahayogeshvaryai Vidmahe Raasaraaseshvaraye Dheemahi Tanno: Krishna Vallabha: Prachodayat

Radha is the ultimate embodiment of unconditional love and divine energy. The festival was attended by many devotees, including Chandrakanta Mataji, Pallavi, Suresh, Kripali, Rachna Vyas, Himani Pathak, Neeraj Pathak, Varun Prabhu, Vishwatma Prabhu, Shabuni, Puneet, and Kushal, who all contributed to the auspicious celebrations.
