Udaipur, With the ongoing advancements and innovations in cancer care across India, the "Trends of Transformation in Oncology: Screen and Treat" conference was inaugurated today to present these developments to the medical community. The conference was inaugurated by renowned cancer specialist from Mumbai, Dr. M.B. Agarwal, along with Pacific Medical College & Hospital (PMCH) Chairman Rahul Agarwal, Director Preeti Agarwal, Executive Director Aman Agarwal, Pacific University's President Dr. M.M. Mangal, PMCH Principal Dr. U.S. Parihar, Conference Director and cancer specialist Dr. Manoj Mahajan, and cancer surgeon Dr. Saurabh Sharma.
Chairman Rahul Agarwal honored all the guests and expressed that this conference would serve as a milestone for cancer specialists working in Udaipur.
During the inaugural ceremony, Dr. M.B. Agarwal, a renowned hematologist-oncologist from India and Asia, emphasized the significance of immunotherapy over traditional treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He highlighted how immunotherapy has significantly improved the survival rate of cancer patients and is a promising treatment that could potentially enable the human body's immunity to fully defeat cancer in the future. He also congratulated Chairman Rahul Agarwal for establishing such a grand institution.
Dr. Agarwal noted that cancer is a life-threatening disease, and raising awareness about it is crucial. The initial treatments began with surgery, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. However, ongoing research worldwide is now focused on immunotherapy and other advanced therapies to enhance patients' survival rates.
Conference Director Dr. Manoj Mahajan mentioned that this conference is being held in Udaipur for the fourth consecutive time until September 15, in collaboration with PMCH, Paras Health, MainCure Foundation, IASCO, Cancer Research & Statistics, IMA Udaipur, API Udaipur, USS Udaipur, and UOGS Udaipur. The conference features prominent cancer specialists like Dr. M.B. Agarwal, Dr. Purvish Parikh, and Dr. Hemant Malhotra.
The main objective of the conference is to share the latest trends, techniques, and research in oncology, focusing on new methods for screening and treatment that are transforming cancer diagnosis and management.
On the first day, academic sessions covered topics like erythropoiesis by Dr. Mohit Naredi, Dr. Akanksha Garg, Dr. Ashay Karpe, and Dr. Saurabh Bhave, while Dr. Chanderpal Ranawat, Dr. Puneet Jain, and Dr. Girish Badarkhe discussed leukopoiesis. Megakaryopoiesis was addressed by Dr. Saurabh Gupta, Dr. Prakash Shekhawat, and Dr. Subhaprakash Sanyal.
On September 14, discussions will focus on breast cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, and prostate cancer. On the final day, September 15, the spotlight will be on cervical and ovarian cancer, with in-depth discussions on early detection and advanced screening techniques. Over 400 oncologists, researchers, and doctors from various cities across India are expected to participate and share their insights and experiences.
