Udaipur: On the occasion of Hindi Day, an international poetry competition was held in the sacred land of Lumbini, Nepal. Udaipur's police officer, Chetna Bhati, was awarded the prestigious Hindi Kavya Ratna honor for her outstanding poetry.
**6742 Poets from Various Countries Participated**
The competition was organized online by the renowned Shabd Pratibha Bahu-Kshetriya Samman Foundation Nepal with the aim of strengthening Nepal-India friendship, preserving the Devanagari script, promoting Hindi as a language of friendship between Nepal and India, and encouraging Hindi poets. The event saw participation from 6742 poets across Nepal, India, Canada, the USA, Australia, and Tanzania. Participants ranged from 16-year-old children to 75-year-old seasoned poets. The competition included officials from various government and private offices, as well as leaders from political parties.
Based on the excellence of their compositions, 675 poets were selected and awarded certificates along with the Hindi Kavya Ratna honor, while 25 emerging poets received the Kavya Shri honor. Among the honorees was Udaipur's own police officer, Chetna Bhati, who received the prestigious Hindi Kavya Ratna Award.
On Hindi Day, the foundation's president, Anand Giri Mayalu, remarked, "Hindi has become a global language. Speaking Hindi is as enjoyable as it is simple. Everyone should prioritize their mother tongue." He congratulated the honored poets and thanked everyone for their support in making the event a success. Participant Thanu Ram Sahu from Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, also expressed gratitude to the foundation.
