### From Garment to Identity: Entrepreneurship Skill Development Training Concludes*

Udaipur,  The closing ceremony of the "From Garment to Identity" (Women’s Tailor) Entrepreneurship Skill Development Training Program was held with great enthusiasm in Thoor village, Badgaon Panchayat Samiti. The program, which ran from July 29 to September 21, 2024, over 41 working days, saw the participation of 28 rural women and young girls. Jointly organized by the All India Coordinated Research Project for Women in Agriculture (AICRP), Directorate of Research, MPUAT, Udaipur, and ICICI Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Udaipur, the initiative aimed at empowering women through entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to become self-reliant and contribute to societal growth.

Under the expert guidance of Master Trainer Shabnam Bano, participants were trained in operating sewing machines, drafting garments, and sewing a variety of outfits such as skirts, blouses, salwar suits, gowns, frocks, baba suits, petticoats, bags, lehengas, and designer dresses. Alongside, they received training in marketing, customer service, team building, entrepreneurial behavior, livelihood enhancement, and financial literacy. Efforts were also made to connect the trainees with various apparel vendors and boutiques in Udaipur to help them secure livelihoods.

Dr. Arvind Verma, Director of the Directorate of Research, MPUAT, Udaipur, extended his best wishes to the participants and encouraged them to advance their entrepreneurial endeavors. Sarpanch of Thoor Panchayat, Shri Jagdish Chandra Gansha, also blessed the participants and motivated them to continue progressing. The trainees shared their experiences and the personal transformations brought about by the training, promising to utilize their newly acquired skills to become successful entrepreneurs and set an example of self-reliance for their families and society.

Certificates of appreciation and sewing toolkits were distributed to all participants, enabling them to successfully kickstart their self-employment journeys. The organizing team included Senior Scientist Dr. Vishakha Singh, Junior Scientist Dr. Sumitra Meena, and ICICI RSETI Training Coordinators Vaibhav Gupta, Sharad Mathur, and Prakash Kumawat.
