Udaipur. Renowned TB and chest disease specialists from Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, Dr. S.K. Luhadia and Dr. Atul Luhadia, were invited as faculty members from Udaipur to participate in the State Chest Conference, Rajpulmocon-2024, held in Jodhpur. They contributed to a panel discussion on non-tubercular mycobacteria (NTM), a lung disease often mistaken for TB. Dr. S.K. Luhadia emphasized the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment of NTM, which requires a longer treatment duration compared to TB.
Additionally, Dr. Atul Luhadia delivered a lecture on diagnosing and treating cases of blood in sputum using bronchoscopy. He explained that coughing up blood is a serious symptom, and in severe cases, excessive bleeding from the lungs can pose a life-threatening risk. He urged patients to seek immediate medical attention if such symptoms arise for proper diagnosis and treatment.
