Commitment to Cleanliness Through Short Play

Sri Ganganagar : Following the directives from the central and state governments, the Municipal Council of Sri Ganganagar has been organizing various activities under the Swachh Bharat Mission and the "Cleanliness is Service" campaign from September 17 to October 2, 2024.

Municipal Council Chairperson Mrs. Gagandeep Kaur (Pande) and Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Kumar Arora announced that on Tuesday, a short play titled "Red Art Theatre," focusing on cleanliness, a drug-free Sri Ganganagar, clean water, and the environment, was presented at Mahatma Gandhi School No. 5. The event also included a pledge to serve parents and the elderly. The program commenced with floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.

Students from the school captivatingly presented Mahatma Gandhi’s favorite hymn, "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patit Pavan Sitaram."

In her address, Principal Rimpa Talwar emphasized that a healthy and clean body leads to a joyful mind, which is essential for achieving set goals. She highlighted the detrimental effects of substance abuse, stating that it harms not just families but society at large, with individuals addicted to substances being a curse for the community. She encouraged youth to stay away from stress and to channel their energy into positive activities.

SBM In-Charge Amandeep Kaur informed attendees about environmental pollution caused by plastic use, noting that both the central and state governments have banned plastic bags and harmful plastic items. She urged everyone to eliminate plastic use entirely, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to raise awareness about health and environmental protection.

Social worker Mr. Prem Chugh encouraged the audience to dispose of waste in trash bins and to ensure their household waste is collected daily by waste management vehicles. Principal Rimpa Talwar expressed gratitude to Municipal Council Chairperson Mrs. Gagandeep Kaur (Pande) and Commissioner Mr. Rakesh Kumar Arora for their support.

The program was attended by the SBM team, including Babulal Meena, Manoj Manchanda, Surendra Kumar (MIS Manager), Vikram Jaini, Lakshya Jaini, Anil Kumar, Ramdas Bansal, Indubhoosan Chawla, Omprakash Meena, Rajendra Arya, and Mahavir Prasad.
