### MPUAT :Lecture on Intellectual Property

Udaipur, September 30, 2024 – A special lecture on "Intellectual Property" was organized at the new auditorium of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology. Dr. Dhanpat Ram Agrawal, All India Co-Convenor of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, inaugurated the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Addressing the students, Dr. Agrawal provided detailed insights into the technical and legal aspects of intellectual property, emphasizing the importance of testing new ideas in laboratories and developing them under conducive conditions, akin to pilot projects for their implementation.

Dr. Agrawal highlighted that 300 years ago, we were solely dependent on natural resources, but capital resources have now advanced. He stressed the need to improve the quality of indigenous products along with enhancing marketing strategies, underscoring the importance of reaching these products to the masses for the nation's progress. He emphasized that intellectual property rights (IPR) are a critical subject that must be promoted alongside research. Students were encouraged to conduct research within the country and increase the use and consumption of indigenous products.

On this occasion, the book "37 Crore Startups ka Desh," written by Dr. Raj Kumar Mittal, focusing on organic entrepreneurship for young entrepreneurs, was unveiled. The event's chief guest, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Vice Chancellor of the University, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Agrawal for his enlightening lecture and welcomed him on behalf of the university. He mentioned that such knowledge-enhancing lectures are beneficial for students. 

Dr. Karnataka praised the various research and extension activities undertaken by the university’s agricultural scientists and emphasized the importance of benefiting farmers through the latest agricultural technologies. He stated that to improve the nation, one must first improve themselves and stressed the need for inspiration in any endeavor. Special emphasis was placed on innovation and the widespread dissemination of farmer-friendly information.

Dr. R.A. Kaushik, Director of Extension Education and Acting Dean of Rajasthan College of Agriculture, reiterated the importance of organizing such special lectures from time to time. He expressed satisfaction with the presence of senior scientists, faculty members, staff, and students. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ramhari Meena, the University’s Controller of Examinations and Assistant Dean of Student Welfare at the college, who expressed gratitude to all the agricultural educators and students in attendance. The event was coordinated by Dr. Kapil Dev Ameta, Associate Professor of Horticulture.
