### Education is the Best Means of Empowerment - President

**Jaipur-Udaipur, Honorable President Smt. Droupadi Murmu emphasized that education is the most powerful tool for empowerment. She remarked that an educated and well-cultured individual significantly contributes to the progress of their family, society, and nation. The President was addressing the 32nd Convocation Ceremony of Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur as the chief guest on Thursday. 


Congratulating the students, the President said that today is not just a moment of pride for the students who received gold medals but also for their teachers and parents. She highlighted that it is a joyous occasion for all those who played a role in shaping these young minds.

The ceremony, held at the Vivekananda Auditorium of the university, was presided over by the Governor and Chancellor Shri Hari Bhau Kisanrao Bagde. The distinguished guests included Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulabchand Kataria, while the Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister of the state, Shri Premchand Bairwa, attended as the esteemed guest.

Earlier, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunita Mishra welcomed the guests and presented the university's achievements. Upon the arrival of President Murmu at the university, she was greeted with floral bouquets by the dignitaries, including Governor Shri Bagde, Punjab Governor Shri Kataria, and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Bairwa.

At the convocation, the President conferred 85 students with Gold Medals across various disciplines and awarded PhD degrees to 68 scholars. A total of 102 Gold Medals were awarded, including 8 Chancellor’s Medals. Among these, 16 were male and 69 were female students. The medals included 9 sponsored awards in memory of notable figures such as Dr. C.B. Mamoria, Prof. Vijay Shrimali, and others.


The ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including the Minister of Revenue and Colonization Shri Hemant Meena, MPs Dr. Mannalal Rawat and Chunnilal Garasia, and numerous university officials and local representatives.

### High Conduct and Duty Elevates the Nation

During her address, President Murmu inspired the students by underlining the importance of character along with education. Quoting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, she emphasized that without character and humility, a person is akin to a violent animal. She urged the students to follow the highest ethical standards, lead by example, and bring glory to the nation through their actions.

### Lifelong Learning Ensures Relevance of Education

President Murmu further noted the rapidly changing times marked by advancements in knowledge and technology. She stressed the importance of continuous learning to maintain the relevance of education. The President also urged students to strike a balance between personal ambitions and social responsibilities, contributing towards making India a developed nation by 2047.

### Mewar: A Confluence of Devotion and Power

In her speech, the President reflected on the historical significance of Mewar and Udaipur, praising its role in India’s independence struggle and nation-building. She mentioned the contributions of great personalities such as Rana Sanga, Maharana Pratap, and the poet-saint Meerabai, calling Mewar a land where devotion and power converge. She also acknowledged the tribal communities of the region for enhancing the pride of both Mewar and the country.

### Excellence of Daughters in Every Field

President Murmu expressed delight upon learning that female students outnumbered their male counterparts among the gold medalists. She lauded the achievements of daughters, noting that they are excelling in every field, which is a matter of immense pride.

Prof. Sunita Mishra, the Vice-Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, expressed her deep gratitude to the President for gracing the convocation ceremony. In her special remarks, she reiterated the university’s commitment to excellence in education and research, emphasizing the institution’s role in shaping the future leaders of the nation. Prof. Mishra also highlighted the university's continuous efforts in fostering an environment of innovation and intellectual growth, inspiring students to contribute to society and the country’s development.
