*Udaipur, Udaipur emerged as the double champion in the Rajasthan State Kudo Championship 2024, showcasing exceptional prowess by winning a staggering total of 130 gold medals across two major competitions. The event was held in collaboration with the Kudo Headquarters Rajasthan and S.R.A.M.M.A., and featured the 11th State Level Kudo Championship alongside the 5th Kudo Federation Cup 2024.
In the 11th State-Level Championship, Udaipur’s athletes dominated the event, securing 50 gold, 21 silver, and 12 bronze medals, clinching the prestigious championship trophy. Jodhpur took the runner-up position with a total of 86 medals, which included 37 gold, 32 silver, and 17 bronze medals. Bikaner came in third place, winning a total of 50 medals with 32 gold, 15 silver, and 11 bronze.
Udaipur continued its winning streak in the 5th Kudo Federation Cup 2024, claiming victory with 80 gold, 33 silver, and 7 bronze medals, bringing their total to 120 medals. Jodhpur again took the second position with 48 gold, 42 silver, and 11 bronze medals, while Bikaner secured the third spot with 36 gold, 27 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was marked by the presence of the chief guest, Shri Jogeshwar Garg, Cabinet Minister and Chief Whip of the Rajasthan Government. He praised the athletes for their outstanding and powerful performances, emphasizing the importance of five key elements – skill, stamina, speed, spirit, and sincerity – to excel in sports. Shri Garg also assured the audience that efforts were underway to officially include Kudo as a recognized sport within the Rajasthan Sports Council, which would open new opportunities for Kudo athletes to receive government job reservations and financial grants.
Hanashi Mehul Vohra, the Chief Coach of Kudo Federation India, elaborated on the journey of Kudo from 2013 to 2024. He highlighted that since the sport gained recognition from the Government of India, over 20 Kudo athletes have secured government jobs under reserved categories. If Kudo becomes part of the Rajasthan Sports Council's recognized sports, players would benefit from state-level job reservations and grants.
The closing event also celebrated the outstanding athletes from various districts who were awarded the “Best Fighter” trophy. Udaipur’s Archit Jain, Linashree Dashora, Shivansh Sarkar, Rudrika Jain, and Kailash Bharti were among those honored. Athletes from other regions such as Praveen Puri Goswami from Rajsamand, Priyanka Singh from Bikaner, and Neeraj from Alwar were also recognized for their excellence.
Additionally, nine athletes from Rajasthan were selected to represent India in the upcoming "Kudo Eurasia Cup 2024" to be held in Armenia. Athletes such as Arpit Chaudhary and Vrinda Soni from Alwar, Khayati Parmar from Jodhpur, and Baboolal Chaudhary from Jaipur were among those honored during the event.
The ceremony concluded with a tribute to the late Percy Bahmani, the Technical Director of Kudo International Federation of India, recognizing his immense contributions to martial arts in India, especially Kudo. The President of the Rajasthan Kudo Association, Sensei Rajnandini Menaria, along with Secretary Sonika Sain and Treasurer Shubh Bala Radhaswami, extended their heartfelt thanks to all participants and supporters.
