Dussehra Chess Tournament 2024: A Grand Success and Ultimate Champions
The one-day Dussehra Open Chess Tournament, hosted by Chessman Chess Academy and CIL International School, concluded at the Lakhara Chowk Computer Child Academy School. Chief Patron Tushar Mehta reported that a total of 66 players participated in the event, which was divided into two categories: Category A for players under 5, 7, 9, and 11 years, and Category B for players under 13, 15, 17 years, and seniors.
Referees Suraj Sahu, Kushal Patel, and Disha Sisodia officiated the matches. Organizing Secretary Kapil Sahu noted that the closing ceremony featured Chief Guest Yashwant Mehta, who awarded prizes to all participants. Chief Referee Bhavesh Padiyar announced that after six rounds, Param Vadhwani emerged as the champion in Category A, while Bhavy Gahlot claimed the title in Category B.
Winners in various age groups included:
- **Under 5**: Vihana Gokharu, Romanshi Meena, Saira Kesar, Nirvair Kalar, Ajuni Kalar.
- **Under 7**: Gatik Vyas, Vihan Kairwal, Kanishka Kharadi, Devanshi Baheti, Ayaan Gupta.
- **Under 9**: Siddhant Jain, Riddhan Jain, Poorvansh Pawar, Jenish Sharma.
- **Under 11**: Nodit Pandya, Lubani Jain, Kinjal Bhavsar, Mitashi Sharma, Rudransh Kund.
- **Under 13**: Dhananjay Shukla, Sujyot Manoj Kale, Mudita Mehta, Darsh Rathi, Ekansh Jain.
- **Under 15**: Mitansh Sahu, Aniruddh Sahu, Bhavya Maheshwari, Vihan Kumawat, Kavya Kothari.
- **Under 17**: Prath Mali, Himank Soni, Tanuj Solanki, Ishant Rathore, Yuval Parmar.
- **Seniors**: Hemendra Singh Makwana, Ujjwal Telesra, Onik Jain, Kaustubh Gote, Priyansh Mehta.
The tournament was a great success, and similar events will be organized monthly for chess enthusiasts. The occasion was graced by Rajasthan State Chess Vice President Rajendra Teli, Rajeev Bhardwaj, President of Chess in Lake City, Nilesh Kumawat, Manish Chandaliya, and members of the Rajasthan State Chess Executive, along with coaches Vikas Sahu and Kushal Patel, who all extended their best wishes.
