District Collector Directs Education Department to Promote Drug-Free Awareness Among Students

Shri Ganganagar  – A meeting of the District Execution Committee, established for the implementation and supervision of various plans and programs run by the School Education Department and Samagra Shiksha, was held on Wednesday at the Collectorate auditorium, chaired by District Collector Dr. Manju.

During the meeting, the District Collector directed officials from the education department to inspire students to engage in drug-free awareness as part of the "Operation Seema Sankalp." She emphasized that under the "Nasha Mukt Bharat" campaign, the operation aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drugs in all educational institutions across the district.

Dr. Manju stated that regular drug-free pledges should be administered after morning prayers in schools. Activities such as speeches, essays, artwork, discussions, and seminars on drug awareness should be organized on "No Bag Day" to encourage student participation in the drug-free campaign.

She also suggested using emotional videos to motivate students to inspire their families and parents to avoid drugs. Regular awareness initiatives and drug-free pledges should be conducted in coaching centers and libraries. Additionally, drug awareness walls should be established in all schools, colleges, coaching centers, government offices, and hospitals.

The District Collector instructed the timely completion of construction work in government schools, including the establishment of green schools in PMSHRI schools and playgrounds in all schools, ensuring quality in all tasks. Reviewing district and block-level rankings, she emphasized holding regular block execution committee meetings to improve rankings and required departmental officials to monitor all activities consistently.

While reviewing the progress of Jan Aadhar and Aadhar seeding, she stressed that students should not be left behind. All class teachers must ensure that each remaining student has their Aadhar authentication completed and unique IDs created. During the review of the distribution of IFA pink and blue tablets under the "Anemia-Free Rajasthan" initiative, she instructed that the distribution should also be recorded on the portal.

Various scholarship and incentive schemes were reviewed, with discussions on reconnecting drop-out children with education. Regarding the mid-day meal and milk scheme, she stated that the usage of food grains and the number of beneficiaries should be regularly updated on the portal. Preparation for upcoming exam results should begin now to ensure quality.

The District Collector also directed necessary preparations for student screening under the National Child Health Program, ensuring that selected students receive treatment post-screening. During the meeting, the collector reviewed the funds received through the Gyaan Sankalp portal block-wise, along with the progress of the Palanhar Scheme, National Program Parakh, RTE reimbursement, and the physical verification of RTE-admitted students in private schools, as well as the survey progress of illiterates under NILP.
