XXII Alumni Meet and Award Ceremony at CTAE Udaipur

The XXII Alumni Meet and Award Ceremony was held at CTAE Udaipur. The chief guest was Mr. Dalpat Singh Bhandari, an alumnus from the first batch of the college. In his address, he shared that initially only two or three students secured government jobs, but later, through discussions with the government, the entire batch was selected for jobs. He suggested that CTAE should develop industry-institute linkages similar to BITS Pilani. He emphasized the importance of regular meetings and proposed opening alumni chapters in various locations like Jaipur and Ajmer to enhance visibility, a suggestion that received unanimous support.

Various batches contributed to scholarships, which was highly appreciated by all attendees. Alongside the chief guest, Prof. Aaron, also from the first batch, shared memories from his student life. He recounted how their classes were initially held in three sheds at RCA College before moving to the Polytechnic College. He also reflected on his time in the United States, where professors recognized his proficiency in agricultural engineering and encouraged him to pursue computer education. Upon returning to India, he brought the first computer to CTAE in Udaipur.

In the current context, Prof. Aaron stated that we should lead in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He emphasized that AI should be integrated across all branches and that each department should have a coordinator to maximize the benefits of this technology.

Dean Dr. Anupam Bhatnagar informed the alumni about the college’s current achievements and milestones. He highlighted that CTAE holds the distinction of being the top engineering college in the state based on four key attributes—reputation, faculty, infrastructure, and placement. Dr. Bhatnagar noted that CTAE has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with several prestigious institutions, including universities in Australia and the USA, NHAI, Jain Irrigation, Seeds Group, Hindustan Zinc, and Vedanta Group. Each year, Hindustan Zinc offers job placements to 6 to 8 mining engineering graduates, and 10 students intern at NHAI.

Alumni were moved when they saw the library named after the founding dean, Prof. K. N. Nag, marking a proud and exciting moment for them. All alumni and their families took group photos at the 'I Love CTAE' picture point, making the meet a memorable event. They were warmly welcomed in traditional Rajasthani style, with turbans, tilaks, and 'uparnas'.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Manjit Singh delivered the vote of thanks, while the program was successfully conducted by Ms. Poonam Mahala.
