Diver Palak Sharma to Represent India in Asian Diving Championship, Leaves for China on 21st October Leaves for China on 21st October

*New Delhi* – The upcoming Asian Diving Championship is set to take place in Guangzhou, China, starting from 21st October. Divers from across Asia will be participating in this prestigious event, and leading the Indian team will be Palak Sharma, a diver from the clean city of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Palak has been passionate about diving since the age of 8 and, over her 9-year journey, has won an impressive 50 medals at national and international levels. These include 4 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze from international competitions, alongside 29 gold, 8 silver, and 3 bronze medals from national championships.

At the young age of 12, Palak made her mark by winning medals in junior national competitions in 2018, and since then, her winning streak has continued unbroken. In addition to her medals, Palak has been honored with several awards, including the prestigious *Prime Minister National Child Award 2021* and Madhya Pradesh's highest honor, the *Eklavya Award 2022*. She is also the brand ambassador of the *Beti Bachao Beti Padhao* campaign.

However, just five days before the Asian Championship, Palak faced a personal tragedy with the passing of her grandfather. Despite this emotional challenge, Palak has shown remarkable resilience by committing to participate in the tournament. She stated that her focus is now on winning a medal in honor of her grandfather. Refusing advice to withdraw from the tournament, Palak drew inspiration from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who played for the nation after his father's demise.
