'Bihar Film Conclave 2024' Concludes

The first-ever Bihar Film Conclave 2024, organized by the Department of Art and Culture of the Bihar Government, successfully took place on October 18, 2024, at the Taj Hotel in Patna. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with MP and actor Manoj Tiwari, and MP and actor Ravi Kishan, who lit the ceremonial lamp. During the program, distinguished guests launched the coffee table book 'Bihar Baiscope,' highlighting contributors from Bihar to the film industry and scenic locations for shooting.

Notable attendees included IMPA President Abhay Sinha, Kunal, and actor Rajan Kumar, along with many other artists, promoters, filmmakers, and directors connected to Bihar. Participants were provided with comprehensive information about Bihar's film policy. In his address, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha described Bihar as the birthplace of democracy, calling the day historic for the art, culture, and youth department and the film corporation, as artists, filmmakers, technicians, and others from the film industry gathered there. He emphasized Bihar's role as a center of social, cultural, mythological, and rich historical traditions, stating that the film industry plays a vital role in promoting art and culture and raising public awareness.

Meanwhile, MP and actor Manoj Tiwari noted the need for renovations in cinema halls in Bihar. He expressed readiness to establish studios if the Bihar Government announces a film city. He urged filmmakers to prioritize quality while pursuing film production, emphasizing the immense benefits of the Bihar Film Incentive Policy. Actor MP Ravi Kishan remarked that the aspirations of 20 years have come to fruition and thanked the Bihar Government on behalf of the entire Bhojpuri cinema community. Rajan Kumar, producer of Omkar Film and Television Production, shared that under the Bihar Film Incentive Policy, filmmakers will receive incentives of ₹4 crore for shooting films in Bihar. Additionally, producers who cast local artists will be granted extra funding. He praised the Bihar Government's initiative to create more employment opportunities in the state.

During his address, Dayanidhi Pandey, Secretary of the Department of Art, Culture, and Youth, and Managing Director, expressed gratitude to all guests, stating that the film incentive policy has been approved by the Bihar Government this year. The conclave aimed to inform individuals connected to the film industry about the film incentive policy and listen to their suggestions and feedback. He invited artists to engage in film production in Bihar, assuring them that the government is prepared to provide all necessary facilities to filmmakers and artists.
