Salumber Assembly By-election 2024: High Enthusiasm on the Second Day of Home Voting

Udaipur : On the second day of the first phase of home voting for the Salumber Assembly by-election-2024, eligible voters carried out their duties with great enthusiasm. Following the directives of the Election Commission of India, home voting teams, under the supervision of District Election Officer Arvind Poswal, reached the homes of senior citizens and differently-abled voters, ensuring the confidentiality of their vote. The voters expressed their happiness at the opportunity to vote from home and thanked the Election Commission and the district administration team for the arrangements.

Returning Officer of Salumber, Parvat Singh Chundawat, reported that out of the target of 162 voters for the second day—comprising 144 senior citizens and 18 differently-abled persons—139 senior citizens and 17 differently-abled individuals cast their votes, totaling 156 voters. 

In the first phase, which runs until 8 November, teams will continue to visit the homes of voters who are over 85 years old or have more than 40% disability, and who have opted for home voting. Voters who were absent during the first phase will be given an opportunity to vote on 9 and 10 November during the second phase. Voters absent in both phases will not be able to vote, either at home or at the polling booths.

**General Observer Inspects Polling Stations**

General Observer J. Vijayarani visited the Salumber Assembly constituency to inspect various polling stations ahead of the elections on 13 November. She visited polling stations at Hikawada, Amloda, Nokli, Banjaron Ka Tada, Samoda, and Jhallara Check Post, and also inspected polling stations at Bana Khurd and Navda in Sarada. She directed the election department to ensure full adherence to guidelines during the voting process and to ensure all necessary arrangements are made on time for voters. She emphasized the provision of wheelchairs, chairs, and other facilities for senior and differently-abled voters to facilitate priority and easy voting.

Present during the inspection were ACEO Dinesh Chandra Patidar, Sarada Tehsildar Astha Rani Bamaniya, Abhinith Sharma, Ghanashyam Chandel (Patwari), and BLOs, among others.

**Home Voting Scheduled for 6 November**

According to the designated route chart for home voting, on 6 November, polling teams will visit the following locations to conduct home voting for eligible voters: Nevatlai, Kotdi, Padla, Khodi Maudi, Jhalardevi, Nahal Halkar, Sarada, Pal Sarada, Kejad, Neemach Chandoda, Sagtpur, Oda (Rathoda), Rathoda, Kota, Kant, Ratanpura, Bhanpur, Dharod, Dudra, Dangiwada Methudi, Padarda, Shyampura (Gatod), Veerapura, Dwana, Junijhar, Javad, Kharaka, Pani Kotda, Saradi, Singhawali, Orwadia, Kanpura, Adkalia, Lakipa, Salumber, Sipur Dhani, and Sipur Mallada. In these areas, the home voting teams will visit the homes of eligible voters and facilitate the voting process.
