Jaipur: The inaugural session of Gyan Shakti Think Tank (GSTT) is planned as a seminar on “Atmanirbharta in Defence Manufacturing: Opportunities in Rajasthan” in collaboration with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry(FICCI) on 11 November 2024. The seminar is likely to be graced by honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, Minister for Industry & Commerce, IT & Communications, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Mr Ankit Mehta, Co-Chair FICCI Drone Committee & Co-Founder and CEO ideaForge Technology Ltd.
Gyan Shakti Think Tank (GSTT) established in Jaipur Military Station under the aegis of HQ South Western Command, is a Centre for Excellence with multi-faceted faculty including Veterans, Scholars and Academia. GSTT aims to harvest the rich experience and domain knowledge of veterans towards nation building, security and developing a Strategic Vision with active participation from academia, scholars, institutions and industries. It intends to provide a common platform for all stakeholders towards a synergised and coordinated approach in the desired direction.
The State of Rajasthan has over one hundred automotive and component manufacturing units and is gradually transforming in a hub for electronic system design and manufacturing. Jaipur, Bhilwara, Neemrana, Udaipur and Kota are among the leading locations, rapidly developing in to manufacturing hubs. The state of Rajasthan with these industrial basis, MSMEs, research institutions, scholars, academia and veterans has tremendous potential towards creation of a capable Defence Industrial Complex and make immense contribution towards Atmanirbharta in Defence Manufacturing. There is a need to harness the immense potential of state’s MSMEs and elevate their Industrial Capacity to meet demand of Defence Sector and rising demand of Defence Export.
The seminar will witness active participation and contribution of eminent speakers from diverse domains including FICCI, Senior Rajasthan Government Officials, Officials from Armed Forces and Eminent Personalities from Academia & Industries.
The seminar will focus on present and future requirements of Defence Forces, “Opportunities Available in Defence Manufacturing” and “How Rajasthan can participate and contribute” towards the same.The objective of the seminar is obtaining clarity at regional level, development of Defence Manufacturing Corridors and discussion on role of various stake holders including state government, R&D organisations, Academia and Industries.
