First Phase of Home Voting Completed in Salumber for 2024 Assembly By-Elections

The first phase of home voting for the 2024 Assembly by-elections in the Salumber constituency was successfully completed on Friday. As per the directives of the Election Commission of India, home voting was organized for voters aged 85 and above, as well as those with more than 40% disability.

Under the supervision of District Election Officer Arvind Poswal, home voting teams visited the homes of elderly and differently-abled voters, ensuring complete confidentiality while collecting their votes. Eligible voters expressed their gratitude towards the Election Commission and district administration for providing them with the opportunity to cast their vote from the comfort of their homes.

Returning Officer for Salumber, Parvat Singh Chundawat, stated that out of a total of 683 eligible voters, 661 exercised their voting rights during the first phase. The target for home voting was set for 588 senior citizens and 95 differently-abled voters, out of which 569 senior citizens and 92 differently-abled voters participated, totaling 661 voters. On the final day of the first phase, 124 senior citizens and 12 differently-abled voters voted out of the targeted 126 senior citizens and 13 differently-abled voters.
