"Nayi Kiran: Drug-Free Campaign" was launched at the Government Girls College, Sri Ganganagar, on Wednesday, under the initiative of the Directorate of College Education, Rajasthan, Jaipur. As part of this campaign, a "Nayi Kiran: Drug-Free Center" was established at the college.
A workshop was organized for student training and awareness, which was chaired by the college principal, Prof. Poonam Setia. Prof. Setia highlighted the growing severity of drug addiction and urged everyone to remain vigilant against this menace.
The workshop featured a lecture on the drug-free campaign, with the keynote address delivered by Prof. Kamaljeet Kaur Mann, the IQAC in-charge at the college. Prof. Mann expressed concern over the increasing drug abuse in society and informed students about its harmful consequences. She specifically pointed out that Sri Ganganagar, being located on the international border, is heavily affected by international drug trafficking. The problem of drugs has severely impacted the youth in the region.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Mann administered a drug-free oath to all the participants. The event was attended by college faculty members, including Dr. Poonam Bajaj, Dr. Surendra Sharma, and Mr. Yogesh Sharma. The workshop was coordinated by Mrs. Shalini Alha, the in-charge of the college's Tobacco and Alcohol Prohibition Committee.
