Jaipur. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) of the Central Government has approved Rs. 1,154.47 crore for the development of 27 roads in the state, along with an allocation of Rs. 30 crore for the construction of a railway underbridge in Sri Ganganagar. This funding will be used for the widening and strengthening of 748.80 km of roads and the construction of a high-level bridge over the Kalisindh River in Kota.
This approval has been made under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) and the Setu Bandhan Scheme, thanks to the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Dhan Kumari. She had met with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, last Thursday to discuss the development of state roads and major new infrastructure projects.
Deputy Chief Minister Dhan Kumari expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for this approval. She stated that this is a significant achievement for the state, and the approval of Rs. 1,154.47 crore for the 27 state roads marks a big step towards strengthening the state's infrastructure and accelerating its development.
She further mentioned that the construction of these roads will benefit many regions of Rajasthan. It will not only make transportation smoother but will also boost trade, tourism, and agriculture. With improved road networks, economic activities will increase in the state, leading to new job opportunities.
**Road Construction in These Districts:**
This funding will be used for the widening and strengthening of 27 road projects categorized as Major District Roads (MDR) and State Highways in 17 districts across 15 Lok Sabha constituencies.
The road construction projects include:
- **Alwar District (Alwar Lok Sabha Constituency)**: 24 km at a cost of Rs. 24 crore
- **Kherthal-Tijara (Alwar District)**: 51 km at a cost of Rs. 69 crore
- **Kotputli-Bahrod (Alwar District)**: 28.62 km at a cost of Rs. 49.30 crore
- **Balotra (Barmer Lok Sabha Constituency)**: 49 km at a cost of Rs. 57.50 crore
- **Shahpura (Bhilwara District)**: 44 km at a cost of Rs. 74 crore
- **Bikaner District**: 71.80 km at a cost of Rs. 73.30 crore
- **Pratapgarh (Chittorgarh District)**: 17 km at a cost of Rs. 20 crore
- **Jaipur Rural and Sikar Lok Sabha Constituencies (Jaipur Rural District)**: 57.70 km at a cost of Rs. 65 crore
- **Jalore District**: 49 km at a cost of Rs. 65 crore
- **Jhalawar District**: 81.25 km at a cost of Rs. 149.97 crore
- **Falodi (Jodhpur District)**: 53 km at a cost of Rs. 55.65 crore
- **Bundi (Kota District)**: 33 km at a cost of Rs. 80 crore
- **Kalisindh River High-Level Bridge (Kota District)**: Rs. 70 crore
- **Jodhpur Rural (Pali District)**: 67 km at a cost of Rs. 98 crore
- **Rajsamand District**: 58 km at a cost of Rs. 70 crore
- **Tonk District**: 25.43 km at a cost of Rs. 58.50 crore
- **Udaipur District**: 39 km at a cost of Rs. 65.25 crore
These projects will significantly enhance the state’s road infrastructure and contribute to its overall development.
