Eye Donation Completed After Family's Consent Outside Postmortem Room
Home Guard Son's Family Donates Eyes
Kamlesh Dalal, a Jyoti Mitra from Shine India Foundation, informed Dr. Kulwant Gaur that Nikhil Gupta, a Home Guard from Rangbadi and brother of Navneet Gupta, had passed away unexpectedly. Kamlesh suggested that eye donation could be possible if the family was persuaded.
Dr. Gaur immediately contacted Navneet and spoke with him about donating Nikhil's eyes. Nikhil’s father, Ramesh Chandra (from Bhndawada), was present outside the postmortem room, and all family members were moved by the work of Shine India Foundation. After a brief discussion, the family agreed to proceed with the eye donation.
As a result, the eye donation was carried out in the mortuary of the Medical College. Navneet expressed his gratitude, stating, "We received the information at the right time, and after the discussion, this noble act was completed. If the funeral had taken place earlier, we would have been left only with grief."
Dr. Dushyant Kumar Sharma from the Forensic Department also extended his support in the eye donation process.
