Udaipur : On the occasion of International Disability Day, various events were organized in the district under the aegis of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment on Tuesday.
In collaboration with the voluntary organization Society for Education of the Differently Abled, a marathon was held at Fatehsagar Lake in the morning, where hearing-impaired boys and girls participated. Following this, a cultural program was organized at Abhilasha School. The event was attended by ADJ Kuldeep Sharma, CEO of SEDA Organization Renu Singh, Joint Director of the Department Girish Bhatnagar, and District Social Officer Suraj Parmar as guests. The children captivated the audience with beautiful dance performances.
Joint Director Mr. Bhatnagar provided information about International Disability Day and highlighted the welfare schemes of the department. Mrs. Renu Singh shared details about the organization’s activities and future plans. Chief Guest ADJ Kuldeep Sharma spoke about the legal provisions for persons with disabilities and encouraged the children. During the event, individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the welfare of people with disabilities were honored with certificates and mementos by the District Collector. The program was also attended by Santosh Menaria from the Legal Services Authority and the institution's teachers.
As part of the celebrations, an aid distribution program was held at Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, under the patronage of ADJ Kuldeep Sharma. Kailash Agarwal, founder of Narayan Seva Sansthan, shared his memories and spoke about the noble service of helping persons with disabilities. Mrs. Vandana Agarwal provided information about the organization’s projects and emphasized the institution's commitment to social service. On this occasion, Joint Director Girish Bhatnagar provided details about the department's programs. The event included the distribution of tricycles and wheelchairs. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Sanjay.
