Filmmaker Harnath Policherla is Making a Pan-India Film

Filmmaker Dr. Harnath Policherla, known for his active involvement in making films in Kannada, Telugu, English, and other Indian languages, is all set to bring his first Pan-India movie, *Naa Telugodu*, to the floor soon. This film, which addresses issues such as child abuse and drug problems, will be shot in Mumbai, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Along with South Indian actors, Bollywood stars will also feature in the film. Actress Zarina Wahab and actor Ashish Vidyarthi have already been signed for roles, while the selection of other cast members is ongoing. The production design and casting for this Pan-India film are being handled by the renowned Glitter Film Academy in Hyderabad. The film is scheduled to begin its start-to-finish shooting schedule in Hyderabad in February 2025.
It is noteworthy that filmmaker Dr. Harnath Policherla has acted in and produced 18 films in Kannada, Telugu, and English. He is well-known in the Telugu film industry as a producer, director, writer, and actor. His contributions to the development of Telugu culture and language in the USA were recognized when he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from U.S. President Joe Biden in January 2023. In 2001, former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao honored him with the Overseas Indian Citizenship Award. His Kannada film *Paris Pranaya* won the Filmfare Award for Best Film in 2003. His film on youth suicide, *Hope*, received the National Award from the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil. Dr. Policherla has also been honored with the Golden Nandi Award by the Andhra Pradesh State for his film *Chandrahas* and the Sarojini Devi Award for National Integration.
Born in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, and despite a busy medical career in the USA, Dr. Policherla has maintained his passion for cinema. He has made invaluable contributions to English, Kannada, and Telugu cinema through films like *Captain Rana Pratap*, *Tick Tick*, *Drill*, *Chandrahas*, and *Hope*. Professionally a doctor, Dr. Harnath Policherla is recognized as a producer, director, writer, and actor in English, Kannada, and Telugu films.
