### MP P.P. Chaudhary Appointed Chairman of the JPC on One Nation-One Election

New Delhi: In a significant development, Pali MP and former Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, P.P. Chaudhary, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed by Parliament to deliberate on the One Nation-One Election Bill. According to the parliamentary bulletin, the committee includes a total of 39 members—27 from the Lok Sabha and 12 from the Rajya Sabha.

The committee, chaired by P.P. Chaudhary, features prominent members from the Lok Sabha such as Purushottam Rupala, Anurag Singh Thakur, C.M. Ramesh, Vishnu Dutt Sharma, Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, Baijayant Panda, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Manish Tiwari, Kalyan Banerjee, Bansuri Swaraj, Bhartruhari Mahtab, Dr. Sambit Patra, Anil Baluni, Supriya Sule, Srikant Eknath Shinde, Anil Desai, and Dharmendra Yadav, among others. Key members from the Rajya Sabha include Ghanshyam Tiwari, Dr. K. Laxman, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Randeep Surjewala, Sanjay Singh, and Vijay Sai Reddy.

A Proven Leader in Parliamentary Committees

P.P. Chaudhary, serving his third consecutive term as Pali MP, has earned accolades from both ruling and opposition MPs for his exemplary leadership in previous JPC assignments. His chairmanship of the committees on the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2022 and the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019 received praise, including commendation from senior Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and Manish Tiwari during parliamentary debates.

Key Responsibilities Reflecting Expertise

With over 45 years of legal experience, P.P. Chaudhary is a senior advocate specializing in constitutional law, having represented cases in both the Rajasthan High Court and the Supreme Court of India. His deep understanding of legal and constitutional matters has earned him respect in both the legal and political arenas.

In Prime Minister Modi's first term, Chaudhary was entrusted with the role of Minister of State for Law and Justice. Over the years, he has chaired several prominent parliamentary standing committees, including those on External Affairs, the Fellowship Committee, and the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Office of Profit.

Additionally, he has been an active member of various key parliamentary committees, such as the Lok Sabha's Estimates Committee, the Finance Standing Committee, the Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice Standing Committee, the Business Advisory Committee of the Lok Sabha, and the Advisory Committee to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
